Diablo 3 has launched, but you probably know that and are there, not here! While the game doesn’t have guild support, the officers of AIE agreed that a discussion board was warranted. It’s time to COOP! In honor of Armed Forces Day this Saturday, May 19th, Alachaas and AcuZod will be leading a COOP For the Horde run against the Alliance. Meetup at 7pm server by the Death Blimp in the Goblin Slums in Orgrimmar, don’t be late because at 7:30 we will be on the move!

News from a galaxy far far away, there have been requests in the forums for guild consolidation between both factions. Well the officers have weighed in on the topic, and there are just too many members of the guild for this to be feasible. If you’re interested in the conversation, see the SWTOR forums and look for the threads, Combine the AIE Guilds please and Republic guilds merge.

AIE Salus update time! Our newest WoW co-guild has over 500 members and has reached level 13! Big congrats to all the AIE members leveling up Salus!

Zedacus is arranging an AIE Meetup this coming Friday, May 18th, at the Chik-Fil-A on Millerville Rd in Baton Rouge at 6pm. Check the forum post which has the meetup.com link!

There’s a new guildie of the moment! That’s right, everyone! A big congrats to Solarstorm of AIE Rift! Our guildies had a lot of great stuff to say about him this week including stuff like:

“Never gets upset over the small stuff.”

“Always willing to help people out with things, including gearing, mats, filling a spot if a dungeon or raid is a man short.”

“All around a great guy and I think a great representative of the community.”

Living in the Phoenix area and gearing up for the Avengers movie? Well on May 6th at the Temple marketplace there is going to be an AIE meetup just for the movie! Details like the time to attend are still up in the air, but see the thread, Phoenix area avengers meetup in the community section of the forums.

Speaking of the Avengers, other groups are orginizing their own movie screenings at the Meetup.com website, such as the So. Cal meetup and the Chattanooga meetup! Not on the meetup.com site? Signing up is free and allows you to rsvp to events going on within AIE. Rift just got their patch! Finally 1.8 is out and Telara is updated! This is a fairly large patch and changes several things within the game including: talents and abilities, a new armor slot, new crafting recipes, a ranking system, and several bug fixes! For more information check out the patch notes on the Rift forums.

It’s time to COOP again! In honor of Armed Forces Day on May 19th, Alachaas will be leading a COOP run against the Alliance. Time to be determined. Keep your eyes on the AIE Azeroth forums for more information.

For those of you looking to explore the hidden secret locations of Azeroth, Thyatira will be holding an Azerothian Expedition this Saturday, May 5th at 2pm server time. Come join in on the mystical magical carpet ride to these secluded locations.

Hello I am Lanctharus, are you suffering from Diablo III DT’s?  Because I sure am.  Need demon killing fix soon…..  Cannot wait the 14 days.  I haz a sad.

First of May, first of May, outdoor f… Um I mean it’s the first of the May (not even 24 hours)  and we already have 50 people applying for membership.  Holy poop!  Also we wanted to call upon the membership to plan and run guild events.  For example a few years ago Despair a for

Salus is more than 50% into Level 9 and has 339 total characters.  Way to go!

Our gold cash flow is still looking very good.  We have over 2.4 million gold in our banks.  Incoming gold has dipped a bit but we are still very much in the black.

We currently have nearly 7K characters amongst all the co-guilds and we guesstimate that that number represents nearly 2K individual member accounts.  We soon plan to start up our own banana dictatorship.

All Hail the AIE banana republic!

Speaking of malevolent overlords, even more AIE officers are succumbing to our new pony overlords.  Derpy is still the best pony!  And big props to all our bronies and pegasisters who stop by and say hello in Vent.  Brohoof!

Ladies and Gentleman, we have a new guildie of the Moment! Salem otherwise known as KillrElite on the forums! He’s relatively new to the community, but has already organized a RL meetup, organized the COOP run after Lanc and and Ashayo’s promotion party, and is just a great example of someone we love to have in the community, congrats to him!

One of our own, BadModem, is going for his PhD at LSU (Go Tigers!). He’s doing a research project and would love to get some video responses regarding your experiences with WoW or other MMO you’ve spent a good amount of time with social interaction with other folks in! One whom we might as a consider a pillar of the AIE and Frogpants Community, Brian Ibbot, is working with Andrew Allen to produce the first official release from Coverville Records!  I think it’d be great if we could give him some AIE community support! The Album features Jazz versions of Star Trek classics!

Halaa battles are back! Solarflare of AIE warcraft is organizing an old school Halaa battle! Saturday April 21st at 8pm server be there and be ready to earn those tokens to get those old school talbuk mounts, or just have fun killing Alliance. DOH! lol it happns A – The Guild Bank Kickferter started Friday, March 23rd and ending Sunday, April 22nd. The tabs will not be purchased until the 30 days have ended.  Right now we have enough for the first 2 tabs in all 7 guilds.  There are some cool prizes.  Check the forums for more info.

Want to run your own event?  When I started with the guild I met up with Lanc in Atlanta toward the beginning of COOP.  I asked him what I could do to help the guild and he said “help with COOP” so I became a COOP leader.  If you have a cool idea for an event don’t wait on the officers to do it as we have our hands full.  Take the reigns and post it on the forums.  Just make sure you plan well ahead so that you give people time to plan for the event.  Give it a whirl.  I know Gallibond has been pretty active on the forums doing different events.  If you want to be more involved with the guild this is one way to do it.

Invites have been going well.  Please be patient as we cannot have officers on 24 hours a day.  We will get you.  Make sure before you go into aielfo that you have received the email confirmation that your character has been accepted into the guild.

• Forums re-shuffle.

Lanc – Did I mention I am in the beta?  Yes, No?  Well hahaha on me.  It keeps crashing on me but pandas females are ADORABLE! A- it crashes  A LOT

Lanc – All goes well with the guild bank repairs.  People are using it and the coffers have not emptied.  In fact we are very definitely in the black.  The amount offered to members for all their cohort level toons will be held at the daily 15 gold per day level until we see how the run up to Mist of Panderia affects our cash flow.

• For folks with repair bills greater than 15G please chose to repair one piece of gear

Lanc – In regards to Vent etiquette
There has been a lot of questions lately about what is and is not proper to discuss in Vent.  We attempt break it down for folks in an attempt clear the air,

• Avoid profanity in common rooms

• Avoid discussion of inflammatory topics
• The importance of knowing your audience
• Of course the rules relax a bit once you are in a private DnD channel and folks in the channel are ok with salty talk

• We’ve spent the past month back in our home region, Fountain:

• Most of this time has been spent cleaning up the mess made by the intergalactic squatters know as the g0dfathers

• Destroyed ALL their starbases and customs offices
• Camped them in station
• This lead to the Bulgarian and English speaking groups in their alliance to split into two separate alliances

• PIZZA is an offshoot of the 4chan group Elite Space Guild.
• They send small man 5-10 gangs into our space nightly. They fly mostly cheap ships.
• These are tons of fun for us to fight against since our jump bridge and intel networks give us a pretty decent advantage.

• As of this week we’re deployed in the North with Goons and the CFC for the foreseeable future

• Cotel… tell us about the three Titan kills on Saturday
• We’ve started up a free ship moving service to open to all corp members. Members can check the forums for details.

Guild LFR Runs! If you are a WoW player with a Looking For Raid-ready toon, but can’t stand the childish antics of the typical LFR, you may want to join in the weekly AIE LFR runs.  There’s actually a couple  every week, but I know for sure one of them runs on Wednesday evenings around 8pm server time. It usually gets underway pretty fast, but for the last couple of weeks they’ve had to wait a bit to fill the last open spots, so there’s definitely room for more.

Mists of pandaria beta! In case you haven’t heard the beta for the next World of Warcraft panda has started sending out invites! If you opted into the annual pass, check your account on battle.net and your Battlenet email address to see if you can join in on all the beta testing fun!

Also about to arrive: Diablo 3! Annual pass members can download the game client now by logging into their Battle.Net account. The game will be launch on May 15th. We’re still investigating how to implement AIE in Diablo 3, given the limited number of players per game and lack of current information on how Blizzard will implement guilds, but you can be assured AIE will have a presence of some sort.

The carnival of the ascended in rift is still going on. If you haven’t been in game, it is a 5 week event that celebrates Rift’s one year birthday!  There are new rift events, daily quests, items, pets to collect, and a quest chain involved! Subscribers to the game get  XP and rep bonuses and Rift Lite players can still participate!

Pax East is coming soon! If people have never been to PAX or PAX East, it’s quite a spectacle and TONS of attendees! There will probably be quite a few folks from AIE going to this particular gathering, so check the forums for details!

We’d like to take a moment to congratulate guild member Appocolyptic and family for their new addition Lauren Olivia! On behalf of everyone here congratulations! Let us know if she’s a tank, healer or DPS! Everyone can give their own personal well wishes on the forums in the thread “new baby in AIE”.

Most of you know of my segment work on the AIE Podcast and the Convert to Raid podcast for my achievement segments: Epic Achievements and Epic Raiding Achievements respectively. Recently I was interviewed and accepted for a job in the field of electronic maintenance, and as such I will be making a major transition from my current job to my new job.

As a result of this transition period, Epic Achievements and Epic Raiding Achievements will be going on hiatus temporarily until the end of this busy time frame. Hopefully if things progress smoothly, it should be only for a month, maybe two. It is hard to tell when dealing with the real life boss rearing it’s ugly head.

I appreciate the support of both the AIE podcast community and the Convert to Raid community over the last few months of doing these segments, the wonderful comments from those who have listened to them, and of course to the hosts of the aforementioned podcasts. I promise I shall return with bigger and better achievements for everyone to listen to once things have settled down.
